The ENTAS TB (Menuju Tapanuli Selatan Bebas TBC) project, implemented by Yayasan KNCV Indonesia (YKI) with support from PT Agincourt Resources and in collaboration with the District Health Office of South Tapanuli, aimed to accelerate local TB elimination initiative following the decline in case detection during the COVID-19 pandemic. The project focused on fostering multi-sectoral collaboration, enhancing health worker and cadre capacity, and expanding the use of digital tools for community-based TB screening.
A major milestone was the establishment of the Multi-sectoral Forum (MSF) for TB elimination that bringing together local government offices, civil society, professional associations, and the private sector to coordinate sustainable actions. ENTAS TB also supported the drafting of the District Action Plan for Tuberculosis (TB DAP) 2023–2027 and a local regulation on TB, both formally endorsed through a Regent Decree. Yasa Karsa Insani (YKI) conducted training for health workers and cadres on the use of the SOBAT TB application, contact investigation, and patient support, followed by regular mentoring and monitoring to ensure quality implementation.
Primary Objective
To accelerate TB elimination in Tapanuli Selatan by building sustainable multi-sectoral partnerships, strengthening case finding, and improving patient support systems.
Key Achievements:
Established Multi-sectoral Forum (MSF) for TB elimination, formalized under Regent Decree No. 188.45/474/KPTS/2022.
Drafted TB District Action Plan (DAP) 2023–2027 and local TB regulation, both submitted for adoption.
Increased of TB case finding in 2 sub-districts in South Tapanuli District.
Strengthened local institutional and human resource capacity for sustainable TB prevention and control.
