Indonesia’s HIV epidemic remains a critical test of the nation’s health system resilience and inclusivity. Although treatment coverage has expanded, significant disparities persist, particularly in early diagnosis, treatment continuity, and viral suppression. Laboratory bottlenecks, uneven service quality, and fragmented data systems continue to constrain national progress, while stigma, discrimination, and structural barriers limit access for key and vulnerable populations.

Addressing these challenges requires integrated, data-driven, and sustainable system solutions that strengthen coordination, accountability, and equity across all levels of care. Enhancing diagnostic networks, data governance, and supply chain efficiency is essential for improving service quality and achieving Indonesia’s 95–95–95 targets. Guided by national priorities and the global End AIDS framework, Yasa Karsa Insani (YKI) supports the development of stronger, more adaptive, and people-centered systems that ensure continuity of care and long-term impact.

PURPOSE

Our Mission

Yasa Karsa Insani (YKI) works across Indonesia’s health system to bridge policies, practices, and partnerships that make the HIV response more resilient, efficient, and inclusive. Through evidence-based technical assistance, digital innovation, and capacity development, Yasa Karsa Insani (YKI) enhances the quality, accountability, and sustainability of HIV programs at national and subnational levels.

By combining global best practices with locally grounded expertise, Yasa Karsa Insani (YKI) strengthens diagnostic networks, data interoperability, and institutional readiness, ensuring that HIV services are accessible, equitable, and high-quality. In collaboration with the Ministry of Health, laboratories, and technical partners, Yasa Karsa Insani (YKI) contributes to a cohesive and adaptive HIV system that delivers consistent results, reduces inequalities, and sustains Indonesia’s progress toward ending AIDS as a public health threat.

HIGHLIGHTED PROJECT

Our Work

AMPUH

Yasa Karsa Insani (YKI) implemented AMPUH with Global Fund support to enhance Indonesia’s HIV response by expanding viral load and early infant diagnosis testing. The project strengthened laboratory quality, integrated real-time specimen tracking with reporting systems, trained health workers, and improved testing coverage and turnaround time across 105 districts in 34 provinces.

AKSES VL

Yasa Karsa Insani (YKI), with Global Fund support, implemented AKSES VL to expand equitable access to HIV viral load testing across Indonesia. The project enhanced community engagement, trained over 9,000 participants, improved specimen tracking and laboratory quality, and increased testing coverage and efficiency nationwide.
